Testimonials for Nadeem Patiwala ~ McGill Method Certified Practitioner

CLIENT REVIEWS AND TESTIMONIALS

“Before meeting Nadeem, I had tried another physiotherapist for my back pain without seeing any significant progress. I eventually discovered the McGill Method through Squat University and tried doing the exercises on my own, but I quickly realized I needed a deeper, personalized assessment. Following a 2024 gym injury involving mild disc bulges that progressed to annular tears and sciatica by mid-2025, I scheduled a comprehensive 3-hour session with Nadeem in September 2025. He thoroughly evaluated my movement triggers, taught me what to avoid, and gave me targeted exercises to rebuild my foundation. Since working with him, my core strength has improved significantly and my pain has noticeably decreased. I highly recommend Nadeem and the McGill method to anyone looking for a precise, effective approach to back rehabilitation.”

“After struggling with severe sciatica and lower back pain for several months, I tried various therapies without success. An MRI eventually revealed an annular tear and L5-S1 Grade 1 anterolisthesis, which were causing my ongoing symptoms. I decided to look into the McGill Method after reading Dr. Stuart McGill’s book, Back Mechanic, and started working with Nadeem in March 2025.

From the very beginning, Nadeem took the time to properly assess my condition, clearly explain the underlying causes, and build a structured, practical treatment plan. His approach is highly professional and focused on long-term recovery rather than short-term relief. The sessions were thorough, well-explained, and continuously adapted to my progress. Over time, my pain levels reduced significantly, my mobility restored, and I gained a much better understanding of how to manage my back and prevent future flare-ups. I particularly appreciate Nadeem’s ability to combine hands-on guidance with targeted exercises that actually work. I would confidently recommend him to anyone dealing with lower back pain or seeking expert physiotherapy.”

“I came to Nadeem for recovery using the McGill method after 3 microdiscectomies in 2 different discs. He was extremely thorough from the first session itself (it lasted 3 hours). He tested different mechanics to figure out where I was weak so that we could strengthen those areas. As the exercises went on we also fine tuned them to my needs and planned progressions as I regained strength and correct movement. I really appreciated that Nadeem is motivated but doesn’t feel pressure to go outside comfort zone so that we can make safe progress together – and that’s the biggest reason that I will continue partnering with him to improve my physical fitness. Thanks Nadeem & Stu McGill!”

“Hi Nadeem, just wanted to write in to express my gratitude. I’m deeply grateful that our paths crossed – the assessment and coaching sessions with you were just what I needed at this stage of life.
I’ve been dealing with symptoms which seemed like piriformis syndrome – this was coupled with an L4-L5-S1 slipped disc as per my MRIs. Despite trying out a few interventions and a disc ablation surgery, this never fully went away. The pain is relatively minor, but it did interrupt my sleep often. This, coupled with mental frustration about not being able to fully diagnose/get better, was bothering me for 2 years.
The 3-hr assessment for me was firstly a relief that there is nothing functionally wrong with my spine. Then the focus on strengthening my core and specific muscles around my glutes/hip really helped me. I was already a motivated exerciser, so doing the exercises wasn’t a challenge. I needed direction, and that is what the sessions with you have helped with. My pain has been further reduced by more than half, and it rarely bothers me. More importantly, there is no mental frustration.
I still like to check in with you once in a while because I value your guidance. For the same reason, I haven’t hesitated to recommend you. I believe you’ve already met my friend Sourabh, who found your guidance useful too.”

Keep up the good work

“I highly recommend Nadeem to anyone seeking treatment for back pain. His McGill Method training was evident in the thoroughness of his assessment and the way he identified the underlying causes of my symptoms through a series of physical tests. Rather than giving generic advice, he developed a rehabilitation plan tailored to my condition, clearly explained the purpose behind each recommendation, and followed up with detailed written guidance after the consultation. His knowledge, attention to detail, and genuine commitment to helping his patients recover gave me the confidence to return to physical activity safely.”

Rehabilitation and Strength with Nadeem

“Nadeem’s expertise was the catalyst for a successful return to full strength following spinal fusion surgery. By applying Stuart McGill’s principles—specifically the “McGill Big 3″ and strict spinal hygiene—the training established a robust foundation of core stiffness. The implementation of machines and bodyweight drills provided the necessary stability to transition into high-impact kettlebell work, which became the primary focus of the rehabilitation.
Kettlebell-centered training eventually led to the resumption of deadlifting and weightlifting after many years of movement avoidance. Nadeem’s focus on the hip hinge and posterior chain allowed for a return to heavy weights that previously felt unattainable. This systematic approach effectively dismantled the physical barriers of post-surgical recovery, replacing them with newfound resilience and power.

The rehabilitation of my wife’s knees following multiple surgeries for cysts was equally helpful under Nadeem’s care. A progression from an inability to perform a simple bodyweight squat to executing weighted lunges and squats. Nadeem’s guidance restored high-level function and confidence, proving that even complex surgical histories and years of stalled recovery can be improved upon.

The McGill method I can highly recommend for individuals with lower back dysfunction, as it is safe and effective. With a focus on increasing strength and sound biomechanical movement.”

“Leaving a review for Nadeem is easy – he is the best physiotherapist I’ve had and comes highly recommended! Over the past year, I’ve been working with Nadeem on my back issues (herniated disc with nerve symptoms and scoliosis) and he’s been my compass towards recovery. He first did a three hour assessment and, combined with assessing my imaging, was able to identify my pain triggers and the mechanics that I struggle with. After, he used a multifaceted approach, combining the McGill method, strengthening, and flexibility, muscle release, etc. to find the best routine for anyone. He also genuinely cares about his patients well being, checking in and providing constant support. Thank you Nadeem for your incredible work!”

“Before discovering the McGill Method, I was struggling with consistent lower back pain. Previous consultations advised me to avoid exercises altogether, which left me feeling stuck and frustrated with no real path to recovery. Thankfully, I decided to reach out to Nadeem and explore the McGill Method; it has been a game-changer for me.

After a thorough assessment, Nadeem provided a customized exercise routine along with the McGill Big 3, deep core exercises, and I began seeing noticeable improvements in just a few weeks. The pain was reduced, my mobility improved, and I finally felt like there was light at the end of the tunnel.
Nadeem’s deep knowledge of the McGill Method was crucial in tailoring the approach, and exercises to fit my specific needs. His guidance helped me overcome my fear of movement and focus on building strength correctly.

If you’re suffering from persistent back pain and feel like you’re out of options, I highly recommend the McGill Method and Nadeem’s expertise.”

“Although my condition isn’t severe, my MRI shows that I have degenerative disk disease and a posterior annular tear, which resulted from a past injury caused by improper technique during deadlifts and kettlebell swings. I still experience occasional pain and was concerned about the long-term effects, particularly 10-20 years from now. Because of this, I sought advice from Nadeem, a McGill Method certified clinician. After just the first session, which lasted around 3 hours, Nadeem provided valuable insights into spine hygiene, strengthening exercises for muscle support, and strategies for managing flare-ups.

After following the prescribed routine for about a month, I’ve already noticed significant improvement. My back pain has become less frequent and less intense after just one session. I now feel much more reassured about my condition and am confident that, with Nadeem’s guidance, I can not only prevent the injury from worsening but also achieve a full recovery”

“I was diagnosed with arthritis in my hips and spine, which caused constant pain and stiffness throughout the day. This forced me to stop all my activities and exercises, as I could not perform any physical activity. That’s when I decided to reach out to Nadeem for help managing my condition and getting back to the exercises and activities I love most.

I’ve tried it all, multiple physios in different countries, osteopathy, acupuncture, yoga/stretching, etc. The ONLY thing that has worked to stop my chronic back pain is the McGill Method and specifically the in-person guidance from Nadeem. During my first session, which lasted nearly three hours, a series of tests were conducted to identify the root cause of my pain. It was fascinating to see how different tests and postures can affect the load on the spine and contribute to the discomfort. I do not have back pain anymore, but I have more energy and feel great. I’m incredibly glad I reached out, and have already recommended Nadeem to multiple people in Singapore. Thank you!”

“I had been experiencing recurring back pain, which worsened due to my desk job. The pain was accompanied by numbness and tingling in my leg, making it difficult for me to walk or do anything. After consulting a specialist and undergoing an MRI, it was revealed that I had significant compression on my L5S1 nerve roots, along with Grade 1 anterolisthesis. Despite trying physical therapy, traction, and radiofrequency treatments as recommended by my doctor, nothing improved my condition. The doctor then suggested decompression surgery using a laser to shrink the disc and relieve the nerve pain. I was almost ready to proceed with surgery when I was introduced to Nadeem, who insisted that my condition could be treated with a proper rehabilitation program using the McGill Method. He strongly encouraged me to give it a few weeks before making a final decision.

Nadeem worked with me over several weeks, helping to reduce my symptoms and teaching me spine hygiene, core stabilization, and other therapeutic exercises to manage my pain. I’m now pain-free without the need for surgery and have returned to my regular walks and physical training with Nadeem. I’m back to all my activities and completely pain-free. I highly recommend Nadeem and the McGill Method to anyone looking to regain their quality of life.”

“I feel blessed that I was introduced to Nadeem just as I was wrapping up Prof McGill’s books and video material. I was in the middle of a months-long debilitating episode, and Nadeem’s calm approach brought me back from the brink.

I’ve now worked with Nadeem for nearly two years, transitioning from back relief work to full body weight training. I’ve managed to relearn key body movements to avoid triggers, strengthen my entire body and core and go back to a normal life of living and sports.

I can’t recommend Nadeem highly enough to anyone who’s gotten back issues.”

“After giving birth, I developed severe back pain and a significant weakness in my overall strength. Strolling and carrying him became nearly impossible, and the pain in the middle of the night was unbearable. I tried yoga and Pilates, but my condition did not improve; in fact, yoga made it worse. So, I decided to explore alternative options and, through Huberman’s podcast, discovered the McGill Method. That’s when I reached out to Nadeem for help with my pain.

In our first meeting, Nadeem spent three hours conducting a detailed assessment and running tests to identify the cause of my pain. The tests, combined with spine hygiene techniques, brought me immediate relief. Now, I am pain-free and able to manage my daily activities along with all the therapeutic exercises Nadeem recommended. I continue to check in with him periodically to track my progress.

I would highly recommend Nadeem and the McGill Method to anyone suffering from back pain.”

“My son recovered from a temporary spinal cord injury caused due to a sudden drop in Vit B12 in the body. Resulting in weakness in the lower extremities and overall restricted mobility. Nadeem designed a comprehensive recovery program tailored to him, incorporating the McGill Method, mobility exercises, and strength training. The McGill Method was instrumental in overcoming his limitations, while Nadeem’s deep understanding of core strength and stability played a pivotal role in helping him regain his balance.
Nadeem’s deep knowledge of the significance and importance of the core helped him regain balance. Through repetition and small movements, he slowly and steadily gained mobility. Strength training helped him regain muscle mass.
Above all, it was the personal touch and complete dedication. Nadeem was not just his trainer/physio, my son found a friend and confidant whom he could completely trust as he underwent his full recovery.”

“During the COVID period, I suffered from worsening back pain due to long hours of sitting and a previous gym injury. The combination of these factors made my back pain unbearable, leading me to undergo microdiscectomy surgery on my L5/S1 area. However, even after the surgery, I was unable to regain full function and mobility in my back. I tried various physiotherapists and other therapies, but nothing seemed to help. That’s when a friend recommended Nadeem, who introduced me to the McGill Method for my recovery.
Nadeem is an exceptional trainer who genuinely invests time in understanding your unique challenges and crafting a personalized workout plan tailored to your goals, following a comprehensive assessment, he developed a targeted workout regimen that played a crucial role in my recovery. His expertise and dedication significantly contributed to my rehabilitation process.”

“I am grateful to Nadeem, my physiotherapist, whose expertise and dedication have transformed my life over the past two years. My journey began with a back injury from deadlifting. Instead of resting, I stubbornly continued training, which unfortunately led to a disc herniation. This injury set off a chain of persistent issues, including severe back pain, a cyst, and debilitating foot soreness that made it impossible for me, as a software engineer, to use my computer for more than 15 minutes at a time.
Despite reading Back Mechanic and Low Back Disorder, I couldn’t understand or alleviate my pain. That’s when I met Nadeem through BackfitPro in Singapore. From our very first meeting, Nadeem made a significant impression by dedicating over three hours to assess my condition thoroughly. He didn’t just focus on my lower back; he astutely identified that my neck might also be contributing to my discomfort.

Nadeem’s holistic approach involved innovative experiments, such as using a smart back bend sensor, enhancing upper back mobility, and adjusting my monitor’s height to relieve neck strain. He seamlessly blended scientific principles with artistic finesse to fine-tune my exercises and address the root causes of my pain. Within just one to two months of working with Nadeem, I experienced remarkable improvements. The crippling foot soreness that once limited my computer use to mere minutes was gone, allowing me to work all day and even enjoy computer games without discomfort. Our ongoing sessions, though now less frequent, continue to strengthen me through refined exercises that go beyond the basic big three, focusing on both upper and lower body training.

Thanks to Nadeem, I feel stronger and more like myself again. While I still face challenges, such as difficulty sitting for extended periods or on planes, I remain optimistic and committed to finding solutions with his guidance. Additionally, on behalf of my wife, I want to extend our deepest appreciation to Nadeem for his thoughtful free tips that have helped alleviate her sore neck each time we meet.

Nadeem’s exceptional skill, compassionate care, and unwavering support have been invaluable in my recovery. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone struggling with similar issues. Thank you, Nadeem, for giving me my life back.”
